New commemorative coins of NBT

The National Bank of Tajikistan has issued coins in honour of «The 600th anniversary of Abdurahman Jami» - the great Tajik-Persian poet, writer and philosopher of the classical literature, «The 700th  anniversary of Ali Hamadoni» - the Tajik-Persian poet, writer and philosopher, «The 20 anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan» and three coins in honour «The 90 anniversary of Dushanbe – the Capital of the Republic of Tajikistan» with the images of «The Opera and Ballet Theatre named by Sadriddin Aini», «The National Library of the Republic of Tajikistan» and «The National Museum of the Republic of Tajikistan». Altogether, 6 types of commemorative coins with denominations of TJS 500, made of pure silver for numismatic purposes have been issued.

The commemorative coins of the National Bank of Tajikistan are produced with application of modern technologies and best practices in this branch, with observance of high standards of impression of numismatic coins in the Mayer Mint (Germany).

Specification of the coin, issued in honour of 700th anniversary of Abdurahman Jami

Obverse: In the top part of outer circle the inscription of “REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN” in Tajik and in the bottom part in English are imprinted. Between these inscriptions on the left metal and fineness (Ag 925), and on the right the weight of the coin (31,1) are placed. The colored State Emblem of the Republic of Tajikistan and under it the figures “500 Somoni” and “2014”, that show the denomination and issue year are printed in the centre of the circle.

Reverse: In the left side of outer circle the inscription of “ABDURAHMAN JAMI” in Tajik and in the right side the same inscription in English are imprinted. These two inscriptions are separated by point on the top and by figure “600” with national ornament in the bottom. The image of the Tajik-Persian poet and philosopher of the classical literature – Abdurahman Jami is impressed in the centre of the circle. The figure “1414” on the left and the figure “1492” on the right, that specify the birth and death dates of the poet. The coin edge is serrated.
