National Bank of Tajikistan announces the financial literacy month in the country
The National Bank of Tajikistan jointly with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan and partner institutions will hold the financial literacy month in the framework of the international campaign GLOBAL MONEY WEEK 2020 from April 1 to April 30 of this year.
The partners of this campaign were the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the German Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation, the Open Society Institute – Support Fund in Tajikistan, the Siyoma Company as well as credit institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan. The digital partner is Megafon Tajikistan, the information partner is the Asia Plus media holding.
The main goal of this event held annually at the global level is to increase the financial literacy of the population, the inspiration of children and youth to handle money and develop entrepreneurial skills since the involvement of children and youth in the financial sector in modern conditions is of particular importance.
Today less than 1% of children worldwide use financial education and involved in the financial sector. Many young people face difficulties in obtaining and using loans, which negatively affects their further development and well-being. With this in mind, the implementation of the GLOBAL MONEY WEEK 2020 international campaign will help to focus most on the importance of financial rights, especially for children and young people, because with access to financial education, children will learn how to manage money wisely.
• “Learn! Accumulate! Earn money! ” - This is the official slogan of GlobalMoneyWeek (GMW). This slogan reflects the key goals of the GMW campaign, pushing children and young people not only to a reasonable distribution of their budget but also helps them to transfer this knowledge to their family and environment. In addition, the slogan “Learn! Accumulate! Earn money! ” helps everyone to learn how to handle money wisely, think about their future and make money for themselves and their families.
Within the framework of the GLOBAL MONEY WEEK 2020 campaign, credit institutions Tajikistan will arrange seminars, trainings and financial literacy tours for schoolchildren and students within a month. Also, as part of this event, a visit to the NBT museum and production facilities is planned.
The International Finance Corporation, together with the Asia-Plus radio station is launching the program “Understandable on incomes”, which broadcasted 3 times a day at 08:35, 13:35 and 18:35.
In addition, the National Bank of Tajikistan, together with Megafon company, the German Savings Banks Fund for International Cooperation, the Open Society Institute - Assistance Fund in Tajikistan and Siyoma Company invites interested schoolchildren and students to participate in the following competitions:
1. Competition for the best picture on financial literacy;
2. Competition for the best video tape on financial literacy;
3. Competition for the best flash mob (challenge) on financial literacy.
