Meeting of Jamoliddin Nuraliev with representatives of the EBRD

The working meeting of Jamoliddin Kamolovich Nuraliev, First Deputy Chairman of NBT with the EBRD Regional Manager for Financial Institutions in Central Asia Jahongir Shamsiev and Head of the EBRD Representative Office in the Republic of Tajikistan Ayten Rustamova took place on April 20, 2021.

Expressing satisfaction with the mutually beneficial cooperation between the NBT and the EBRD, the First Deputy Chairman of NBT has noted that the NBT also expresses its gratitude to the EBRD for support provided in its membership in the Alliance for Financial Inclusion and looks forward to expanding effective cooperation with the EBRD for further improvement of financial sector in Tajikistan.

“The NBT and the EBRD as reliable partners, have done certain work to support the banking system of our country, its development, as well as expanding cooperation through the attraction of technical assistance, assistance in the implementation of modern corporate governance, inflation targeting, establishment of correspondent relations, further development of the country's insurance market and exchange of experience by holding joint events with participation of international experts in the framework of mutually beneficial cooperation of the parties, ”has emphasized the First Deputy Chairman of NBT Jamoliddin Nuraliev.

In turn, the Head of the EBRD Representative Office in Tajikistan Ayten Rustamova and the EBRD Regional Manager for Financial Institutions in Central Asia Jahongir Shamsiev have expressed interest in expanding cooperation for implementation of economic projects of the Republic of Tajikistan, providing technical assistance, training and professional development of bank employees and bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation with commercial banks of Tajikistan.

It was noted that the successful implementation of the Trade Facilitation Program in the framework of partnership cooperation between the NBT and the EBRD as well as the receipt of certificates of the International Chamber of Commerce for international business (GoingGlobal) by more than 270 specialists of credit financial institutions of Tajikistan is a confirmation of effective cooperation between the NBT and EBRD.

Regarding the financial program "Women in Business", the EBRD representatives have noted that the implementation of this program will allow attracting the largest number of women to banking and financial sector, improving their qualifications.

Supporting the implementation of this project, the First Deputy Chairman of NBT has emphasized that at the moment, significant work is being carried out in Tajikistan for improving the financial education of women, to attract them to banking and financial spheres. The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan pays special attention to support the women- entrepreneurs and ensuring conditions for their professional development, - has noted the First Deputy Chairman of NBT Jamoliddin Nuraliev.

In conclusion, the parties reiterated the importance of expanding effective cooperation between the NBT and the EBRD as well as stepping up actions for the development of the banking system and the economy of the country.
