Strengthening cooperation between the National Bank of Tajikistan and the Swiss National Bank
As part of the Annual Constituency Meetings of the International Monetary Fund held on July 3-6, 2022 in Bad Ragaz in Switzerland, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Kholiqzoda Hokim met the Chairman of the Swiss National Bank Thomas Jordan.
The parties mainly discussed the issues of expanding cooperation in direction of improving the skills of employees of the National Bank of Tajikistan through the exchange of experience and arrangement of training seminars by the Swiss National Bank, especially on topics of monetary and foreign exchange policy, compliance. Another important issue that the parties paid attention to was the establishment of correspondent relations between the banking system of Tajikistan, Switzerland and other European countries.
The Chairman of National Bank of Switzerland, Mr. Thomas Jordan, has expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral cooperation and readiness to expand cooperation, also in direction of strengthening banking system and other sectors of the Tajik economy. He also invited the staff from the National Bank of Tajikistan to participate in a joint training seminar of the Swiss National Bank and Poland to be held in November this year.
In conclusion, Hokim Kholiqzoda has accepted the proposal of Thomas Jordan with satisfaction, expressing readiness to strengthen further cooperation between the parties.
The Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Qahhorzoda Faiziddin and representative of the Republic of Tajikistan in the WB and IMF Ilhom Rajabov also have attended the meeting.
