Inflation rate decreases
The inflation rate for the first quarter of the current year made 1,2%, which decreased to 1.4% against the same period of past year. The present indicator of inflation for this period formed out for account of changes in prices of foodstuff to 0,6%, non-foodstuff to 0.4% and paid services to 5,6%.

GDP amount increases
The economic situation of the country for the first quarter of 2009 is featured with stable production growth and supply of domestic goods and output. According to the recent data the amount of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) for the first quarter of current year made 3 312, 5 million somoni and its real growth in comparative prices increased to 3,5% in compare to the same period of the previous year.
The economics growth for this period occurred mainly for account of increase of agricultural production to 8,7% and services to 4,5%. The volume of industrial production decreased to 8,2% in compare to the same period of the previous year.
