Tajik Delegation meeting with the IMF Managing Director
On April 15, 2024, within the framework of spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Washington (USA) the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan led by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kholiqzoda Hokim, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Qahhorzoda Faiziddin, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for Economic Issues Hikmatullozoda Nematullo and Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the IMF and the World Bank Group Amirzoda Pairav held a working meeting with Kristalina Georgieva, IMF Managing Director.
Along with the information on the indicators of 2023 and the positive trend of economic development in the Republic of Tajikistan, the Head of the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan expressed his satisfaction with the IMF beneficial cooperation and support of this prestigious international financial institution in the development of the country's economy.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged opinions regarding the Policy Coordination Instrument Program (PCI) for the Republic of Tajikistan, which was approved by the IMF in February of this year, IMF lending instruments, the need of capacity building of specialists of ministries and departments, strengthening human resources through adapted training programs and other activities.
At the end of the meeting, the parties stated that the IMF and the Republic of Tajikistan will continue to strengthen beneficial cooperation in this area.
