By the invitation of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in association with the Ministry of Finance of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Mr Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan has made a working trip for participation in the 4th High-Level Dialogue on Financing for Development in Asia and the Pacific which has taken place on April 28 - 29, 2017 in Bangkok (Thailand).
The purpose of participation in the 4th High-Level Dialogue on Financing for Development in Asia and the Pacific was consideration of problems of given region in the process of economic integration of region, and also the further realisation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
In frameworks the given event issues on four essential directions of leading policy of banking system, including interaction in sphere of the taxation, financing for infrastructure development, financial inclusion and financing for prevention of climate change have been considered.
Representatives from 37 countries, including ministers, analysts, scientific, representatives of private sector, regional both external financiers and shareholders, partners in development, representatives of the international financial institutions and AFI attended the Dialogue.
It is necessary to note that in the framework of conference conditions for conduction of bilateral meetings have been created. Taking the opportunity Mr. Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan has held a meeting with Ms. Shamshad Akhtar, Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). During a meeting Parties have discussed the major financial and bank issues, including improvement of investment climate, priorities for foreign investors, improvements of financial and banking system, and also rendering of financial and technical assistance to the Republic of Tajikistan.
In turn Ms. Shamshad Akhtar has expressed satisfactions to cooperation between the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Republic of Tajikistan, having addressed, that will continue effective mutual cooperation in this direction. She also has reminded that financial and banking crisis has been also observed in previous practice of the Republic of Mongolia. As she said this country using special methods has managed to leave crisis. Also Ms. Shamshad Akhtar has noted that current financial and banking crisis in the Republic of Tajikistan is similar to financial and banking crisis of Mongolia. Accordingly, she considers expedient to send a group of bank experts of Tajikistan for studying of experience of the Republic of Mongolia in this sphere.
At the same time Ms. Shamshad Akhtar has pointed out that the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) undertakes the organisation and holding of training programs in the Republic of Mongolia.
The Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan has kindly accepted the offer of the Ms. Shamshad Akhtar, Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), and has expressed willingness in cooperation expansion in sphere of financial and banking system.
It is necessary to note that the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan during effective bilateral meetings and negotiations in the frame of the working visit has spent all efforts for establishment of relations. During a working meeting the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan has been accompanied by Mr. Aziz Kholboboev, Head of International Relations Management.
