The meeting with representatives of credit institutions within the limits of preparation of the Republic of Tajikistan for the 2nd Round of Mutual Assessment of National System on Anti-money Laundering and Combating Terrorism Financing and Prevention of Mass Destruction Weapons Proliferation Financing has taken place (AML/FT/PMDWPF) has taken place on December 7, 2017 in the National Bank of Tajikistan.
The purpose of holding the given event was to discuss existing lacks of national system of the republic on AML/CFT/PMDWPF, preparations for the 2nd Round of Mutual Assessment and also consideration of possible issues, which may be raised by experts during mutual assessment. More than 60 representatives from credit institutions have taken part in the meeting.
The Meeting Opening Ceremony has taken place in the presence of Mr. Ikromi S.S., NBT Deputy Chairman who has made salutatory speech and has invited all participants of meeting to mutually advantageous and meaningful dialogue for solution of assigned tasks. It is necessary to note that Mr. Ikromi S.S., having acquainted meeting participants with some existing lacks of national system on AML/CFT/PMDWFP, has designated steps on their overcoming.
Mr. Ikromi S.S. also has called participants of action for profound preparation for the 2nd Round of a Mutual Assessment and meeting with experts whose visit is planned on first half of 2018.
Then, according to program, with the purpose of acquaintance of participants with process of mutual assessment presentations on the following themes have been presented by representatives of Financial Monitoring Department:
At the end of presentations of Department’s representatives, discussions on their interesting questions have been held by participants. Thereupon it is necessary to note that representatives of some banks have asked questions to representatives of Department concerning process of preparation for the 2nd Round of Mutual Assessment.
It should be noted that Mr. Faizullozoda F., Acting Director of Department having presented concrete answers on questions asked by representatives of credit institutions, also has presented explanations concerning positions of some key regulatory legal acts of Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
Also, Mr. Faizullozoda F. has noted that the given action can make contribution to development of level of awareness of employees of credit institutions in the sphere of AML/CFT/PMDWFP including preparation to the 2nd Round of Mutual Assessment.
It is necessary to note that the mutual assessment of National System of AML/CFT/PMDWFP of the Republic of Tajikistan is carried out by EAG experts (one of regional groups like FATF).
