Mr. Yuri Sobolev, Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Tajikistan has made the presentation on “Caucasus and Central Asia: Regional Economic Prospect” on December 11, 2017 in the National Bank of Tajikistan. The given presentation is the result of the analysis of IMF concerning economic situation in Caucasus and Central Asia region.
The presentation has been made in presence of the NBT management including Mr. Jamoliddin Nuraliev, First Deputy Chairman, Ms. Lola Salimova, NBT Deputy Chairman and Jamshed Karimzoda, First Deputy Minister of Finance, Zavki Zavkizoda, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, and also representatives of the Ministry of Justice, State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, Tax Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and heads of structural subdivisions of the National Bank of Tajikistan.
Y.Sobolev's report has included IMF survey results on economic prospects in the region, preserving macroeconomic stability, maintenance of intensive and inclusive development, conclusions and the IMF’s role in this process. Also in the report it has been especially underlined the necessity of application of complex measures in economic policy with the view of achievement of specified targets, i.e. stability and development of economy, necessity of strengthening of grounds of monetary and fiscal policy in the Caucasus and Central Asia Region.
After the presentation a discussion with representatives of ministries and agencies of the Republic of Tajikistan has taken place, where participants have discussed concrete issues of methodology of carrying out analysis and the IMF analysis economic projection in terms of application of information sources.
In the final part, Mr. Jamoliddin Nuraliev, First Deputy Chairman of the National bank of Tajikistan has expressed gratitude to the IMF Representative Office in Tajikistan for made presentation, which was held at the level of corresponding ministries and agencies in cooperation with the National Bank of Tajikistan. Also it has been underlined that arrangement of similar initiatives will be welcomed in the future.
