Meeting of Jamoliddin Kamolovich Nuraliev with responsible personnel of authorized banks on legalization of funds of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan.

On August 23, 2021, an extendedmeeting on legalization of funds of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistanwas held at the NBT under the chairmanship of Nuraliev Jamoliddin Kamolovich, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistanwithparticipation of heads and officials of authorized banks of the country.

In the beginning of the meeting, Jamoliddin Nuraliev briefed the audience on the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Amnesty in relation to legalization of assets and funds of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan” that was drafted by the Interdepartmental working team to meet objectives underlined in the message of Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E Mr. Emomali Rahmon to Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan on January 26, 2021 "On main directions of domestic and foreign policy of the Republic of Tajikistan." This law was approved on July 2, 2021 No.1802 and entered into force on July 5, 2021.

“The purpose of today's meeting is, first of all, to clarify the implementation of main provisions of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan“On Amnesty in relationto the Legalization of Assets and Funds of Citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan” has noted the First Deputy Chairman of the NBT Jamoliddin Kamolovich.

It was mentioned that the purpose of approving this Law is to attract additional capital to the financial and banking system, increase funding for various sectors of the national economy, create new companies, improve the authorized capital of existing companies and create new jobs, remove taxpayers' funds from illegal economic circulation, reduce the share of the shadow economy, enhance the circulation of securities, develop financing for construction and real estate, finance rural farms, manufacturing, industrial enterprises, tourism infrastructure, free economic zones, the inflow of foreign capital and improving the position of the country's balance of payments.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the National Bank of Tajikistan is taking concrete measures to achieve these goals. In particular, the NBT Board approved a resolution "On special requirementsin opening time and call deposit accounts for citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan, to which legalized funds are paid, a standard form of a certificate of legalization of funds in a specified form, reporting form and a list of authorized banks." These requirements and the specified forms for authorized banks and their branches, in accordance with the approved list, establish compliance with additional rules in opening an account for term or pre-demanded deposit accounts. Sample certificate for money legalization, reporting forms and list of authorized banks were also approved by this resolution.

Then NBT specialists have made presentations to explain the process of legalizing funds of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan in banks, the procedure for filling out the statistical reporting form and other issues related to the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Amnesty in relation to legalization of assets and funds of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan."

Afterwards, to provide effective implementation of this Law an exchange of views of participants was organized.

Finally, the First Deputy Chairman of the NBT, Jamoliddin Nuraliev, emphasized the need to attract experienced banking specialists in the implementation of the legalization of funds of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan, urged to intensify explanatory work among population, especially in remote regions of the country, and to organize campaigns to broadly inform citizens through the media.

In addition, it was noted that the website of the National Bank of Tajikistan contains regulatory legal acts regarding the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Amnesty in relationto legalization of assets and funds of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan".
