Hokim Kholiqzoda and Taleh Takhir reviewed the areas of cooperation

On February 27, 2023, the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Kholiqzoda Hokim Hikmatullo held a meeting with the delegation of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan under the leadership of the Chairman of the specified bank Kazimov Taleh Takhir.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the main issues of bilateral relations and new prospects for cooperation in the banking system of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.

At the beginning of the meeting, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Hokim Kholiqzoda welcomed the delegation of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan and noted that the Republic of Tajikistan maintains effective cooperation with the Republic of Azerbaijan in various mutually beneficial areas representing the national interests of the two countries.

The Chairman Hokim Kholiqzoda, then acquainted the guests with the achievements of the banking system adding that regardless of the influence of external factors, the country's banking system managed to complete 2022 with positive results, which in turn ensured the stability of macroeconomic indicators and reduced potential risks to the national economy , stable operation of the banking system, increase in industrial and agricultural production, improvement of the investment environment and support for entrepreneurship, growth of the national economy.

Hokim Kholiqzoda stressed that through the development of economic cooperation and strategic partnership between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan the priority areas for mutually beneficial cooperation between the banks of the two countries have been identified.

The Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kazimov Taleh Takhir, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and added that the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan also managed to complete the year of 2022 with positive results, regardless of the economic and political crisis in the world as well as regional conflicts, economic and commercial sanctions.

He pointed out that as part of banking system reforms, the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan has prepared several strategies and programs such as the "Strategy for the economic competitiveness of the country for the period until 2025", "Strategy for the development of digital financial services", "Program for supporting small and medium-sized businesses" and "Bank Competitiveness Rating", which will come into force in a few days.

Taleh Takhir added: “The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan is ready to establish effective cooperation with the National Bank of Tajikistan in this direction in order to exchange experience”.

It should be noted that during the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to sign a draft Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Bank of Tajikistan and the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and the meeting set the basis for strengthening further cooperation in the banking system of the two countries.
