In the National Bank of Tajikistan took place the meeting with donors

On February, 4th of this year, at the National Bank of Tajikistan took place the meeting of economic team of the country, consisting of State Adviser of President of RТ for economic issues Davlatov M., Minister of Economic Development and Trade Bobozoda G., Minister of Finance Nazhmuddinov S., Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Rahimzoda Sh., Chairman of Investments and State Property Management Committee Hamraliev F. with international financial organizations representatives, including special representative staff of the World Bank.

During the meeting critical condition of republican energy sector was discussed, which occurred as a result of abnormal cold winter. State Adviser of President of RТ for economic issues Davlatov M. has noticed, that the crisis natural phenomena, observed in current year are connected with unusual frosts, lack of water and close calls, echoing in food maintenance of the country in negative manner, drove industrial enterprises, agrarian sector and republic population in the heaviest position. That situation might affect seriously on the economic reforms results, carrying out in the country. In connection with lack of natural gas and electric power reserves, almost all industrial and service enterprises and organizations suspended their activity during last days. Also, as a result of strong frosts, gardens and vineyards have received huge damage. It was completely destroyed 700 hectare of potato fields. On preliminary data, damage caused to national economy, is estimated in 850 million Somoni.

International financial organizations representatives and countries-donors have been acquainted with official request of the Government of Republic Tajikistan to render emergency assistance for elimination of the close calls consequences. Participants of the meeting came to the common opinion that within next few days Government of RT will provide the list of essential commodities and goods to the international organizations and countries-donors, as well as mechanism of their using and distribution.
