Next IMF mission has started to work in Tajikistan

On January 25, 2007 the next mission of International Monetary Fund under chair of Mr. Carlos Pineria has started its work in out country.

In the same day the IMF mission had meeting with the economic team of the Republic of Tajikistan consisting of State Adviser of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on economic issues M.Davlatov, Minister of Finance S.Najmiddinov, Chairman of the National Bank M.Alimardonov, Minister of Economic Development and Trade G.Boboev and Chairman of Tax Committee H.Soliev.

The State Adviser of the President on economic issues broaching macroeconomic indicators has noted that in 2006 it was remained the stable growth of local production, the level of GDP production for last year was 7,0% including the production of industrial output - 4,9% and agricultural output 5,4%.

The head of mission referring the aim of visit has noted that he intends to complete the discussion on IMF programs “Instruments for support of economic policy”.

It is expected that during their visit the IMF mission members will assign meetings and negotiations with a number of heads of ministries and departments of Tajikistan.
