The IMF mission has completed its next visit to Tajikistan

On February 1, the IMF mission that was in our country at the head of Mr. Carlos Pinerua finished its work.

During the visit the mission members have held some meetings and negotiations with leadership of the country, ministries and departments, National Bank of Tajikistan, commercial banks and international financial institutions.

On completion of the mission work the Senior Adviser of IMF Middle East and Central Asia Department Mr. David Owen and Head of IMF mission Mr. Carlos Pinerua have given the press-conference for representatives of mass media. They have noted that during the above mentioned meetings and negotiations the current issues and prospects of cooperation of Tajikistan with IMF were discussed. During these meetings the parties have stated their satisfaction with rates of social and economic development of Tajikistan and have exchanged opinions on development of cooperation with IMF on the program within the economic policy support facility.

The rendering assistance for external debt administration, monetary policy, banking sector and also tax policy and debts administration are called as main directions of further interaction.

The IMF members have confirmed their interest to continuation of cooperation with Tajikistan.
