Meeting of Hokim Kholiqzoda with Antonella Bassani

At the meeting of the Republic of Tajikistan delegation with the World Bank Regional Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Mrs. Antonella Bassani, which took place in Washington, on April 17 issues related to the country's economic situation, including energy, digitalization, improvement of the investment climate and other issues of ensuring economic development were discussed.

During the meeting with the Vice-President of the World Bank, Head of the delegation - First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kholiqzoda H.H. informed about the macroeconomic situation of the country in 2023 and noted that the World Bank, as one of the main partners of ensuring the sustainable development of the Republic of Tajikistan, has a significant contribution to the implementation of structural reforms of the country's economy.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the large strategic hydropower construction - "Rogun Hydroelectric Power Station", Tajikistan's funding for this project in 2024 and attracting separate funding through World Bank projects, as well as increasing financial resources and improving the quality of the World Bank's loan portfolio in the Republic of Tajikistan.
