In the National Bank of Tajikistan working meeting took place

Governing Body of the NBT has held the working meeting with presence of Heads of commercial banks and non-banking financial organizations (NFO). During this meeting was discussed situation on the internal currency market, activity of the banks and NFOs, as well as work of the exchange offices.

Chairman of the National bank of Tajikistan Alimardonov M.M., analyzing the latest established situation in the inside currency market has noticed that 953 exchange offices are operating in the territory of the country at the present time. And 132 of them belong to physical persons, the rest are opened by commercial banks and NFOs. Unfortunately, most of these exchange bureaus are situated in the capital and large cities, - Alimardonov M.M. said. Besides, commercial banks and non-banking financial organizations have weakened the control over activity of exchange offices, therefore it causes the fair criticism from population and mass media.

Head of the National Bank of Tajikistan paid attention of the Heads of commercial banks and NFOs at control over the activity of exchange offices, the fastest removal of shortcomings in theirs activity, improvement of service quality for customers. Also he has offered to study the possibilities of opening exchange offices in remote build-up areas, especially in mountainous regions, as stability on the internal market mostly depends on their work.

The Heads of commercial banks and non-banking financial organizations made a speech and spoke out their opinion during the meeting.
