The AFI Global Policy Forum recently convened in San Salvador, drawing a diverse assembly of stakeholders. Participants included representatives from central banks and ministries of finance, alongside financial regulators, standard-setting bodies, and international organizations. Furthermore, the Forum welcomed financial service providers, technology companies, mobile network operators, payment platforms, researchers, and technical experts. The delegation from Tajikistan's National Bank was led by the First Deputy Chairman Sharifzoda Firuz Homiddin.
A high-level dialogue and exchange of experience were held at the event, and opportunities for developing and improving national strategies and policies for financial inclusion were discussed.
The 2024 Forum is held under the motto ”Innovations for an inclusive world", the purpose of which is to share experiences on the development of national financial inclusion strategies and the promotion of national financial inclusion policies by leading financial regulators
After the event, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Sharifzoda F. H. met with the AFI Executive Director and Secretary of the Board Dr. Alfred Hannig
The meeting addressed various topics concerning financial inclusion in Tajikistan, including the progress on commitments outlined in the Maya Declaration, the implementation of the national financial inclusion strategy, green finance initiatives, and the digital transformation of financial services. In light of these discussions, the First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan extended an invitation to Dr. Alfred Hannig to visit the Republic of Tajikistan.
It should be noted that at the end of the Forum, the First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Sharifzoda Firuz participated in the award ceremony and presented awards to the recipients of the AFI Fintech-2024 nomination during a dedicated ceremony.
