The prospect for Tajikistan's sovereign credit rating has been raised


On September 26, 2024, Moody's Investors Service upgraded the Republic of Tajikistan's sovereign credit rating. The rating was raised from "B3" with a "stable" outlook to "B3" with a "positive" outlook. This upgrade reflects the positive trend observed in Tajikistan's key economic indicators.

The following factors contributed to the rating upgrade, such as stable economic development and increasing international reserves, which allow the Republic of Tajikistan to fulfil its external debt service obligations and reduce potential pressure on the balance of payments. on time, as well as strengthening external indicators in recent years, additional financing, mainly supported by development partners, to meet the medium-term needs of important government projects

It should be noted that Moody's Investors Service holds significant global influence due to its role in assessing the creditworthiness of nations and analyzing associated risks. Publication of sovereign credit rating evaluation results is one of the main requirements for entering the international capital markets and can play a positive role in the development of investment and cooperation with international financial organizations, investment banks and development partners.
