Meeting of the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan with the Chairman of the Swiss National Bank

On October 22 of this year, Tolibzoda Firdavs, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, met with Martin Schlegel, Chairman of the Swiss National Bank, in Washington, USA.

At the beginning of the meeting, Tolibzoda Firdavs congratulated Martin Schlegel on his appointment to an important and responsible position. He expressed satisfaction with the beneficial cooperation and active representation of the interests of the Republic of Tajikistan by the Swiss National Bank in the Board of Directors of the IMF and the World Bank. He called for further expansion of relations to ensure stability within the banking system.

During the meeting, the parties expressed their satisfaction with the level of bilateral cooperation between the countries. They exchanged views on current cooperation in the field of technical assistance provided by the Swiss National Bank for capacity building, as well as further cooperation on digitization and climate issues. The parties also discussed the forms of providing technical assistance in the field of international resource management. They stated that the friendly, close, and effective relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Swiss Confederation will continue to be strong.

On the same day, Tolibzoda Firdavs, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, met with a delegation from the Swiss multinational investment bank UBS.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on various issues related to the world economy, financial cooperation, trends among sovereign investors, the state of the financial market and existing risks, and opportunities for cooperation in international resource management.
