The Role of Youth in Strengthening State Independence
On January 10, at the initiative of the Youth Council of the National Bank of Tajikistan and the Committee on Youth and Sport Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, with participation from the National Bank of Tajikistan’s management and the Committee on Youth and Sport Affairs, a meeting of the country's banking system was held under the motto "The Role of Youth in Strengthening State Independence." Prior to the meeting, an exhibition showcasing banking products and advancements made by credit financial institutions was held. This served as a platform to educate participants about various financial services available.
Gulbahor Naziri, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, initiated the second segment of the meeting by underscoring the central role of youth in the economic, social, and political advancement of the nation. She emphasized that Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, regards youth as the vital force propelling societal progress. Consequently, policies concerning their education and engagement are prioritized by both the State and Government. The Leader of the Nation consistently advocates for active youth participation, encouraging them to propose innovative ideas, safeguard national symbols and historical landmarks, and uphold the security and prestige of their homeland and be the flag-bearer of this sacred land.
We remind that the management of the National Bank of Tajikistan consistently encourages young individuals to resist extremist ideologies and foreign influences, instead fostering a strong sense of national identity and purpose. Acknowledging the valuable contributions of technologically savvy youth in the banking sector, particularly in developing innovative financial products like mobile payments and digital wallets, the bank emphasizes the need for continued support of their creative endeavors. As highlighted by the Leader of the Nation in his Address “On main dimensions of domestic and foreign policy of the Republic of Tajikistan” supporting youthful innovation is crucial for addressing societal challenges and ensuring sustainable growth across all sectors, including the banking industry. Therefore, credit financial institutions are urged to create an environment conducive to the advancement and implementation of these innovative ideas championed by young people, Gulbahor Naziri mentioned.
Rahimzoda Shabnam, First Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Youth and Sport Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan emphasized the crucial role of youth in societal progress. She highlighted that since independence, several state programs and legal frameworks to empower young people and enhance their contribution to society were approved. These initiatives include the "State Policy on Youth Strategy," the "Program on Health Development of Youth," and the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Youth and Youth Policy of Tajikistan." This demonstrates the significant importance placed on youth development by the Head of State.
The event featured presentations on several key themes. These included: “The significance of financial literacy for young people,” “The contributions of OJSC Alif Bank to youth professional development,” “The collaborative efforts of Dushanbe City Bank in supporting youth financial growth,” and “The initiatives undertaken by the Investment and Credit Bank, Tajikistan to support the country's youth through various initiatives.”
At the end, active young participants and foremost employees of a number of credit financial institutions were honored for their contributions and received certificates of appreciation and symbolic gifts. The event highlighted the determination and dedication of young people in adhering to the Leader of the Nation guidance, emphasizing their commitment to contributing to the nation's progress and prosperity.
