On February 3, 2025, Gulbahor Naziri, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, met with Farrukh Sultonov, Head of the Representative Office of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in the Republic of Tajikistan.
Gulbahor Naziri, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, stated that the transition to digitalization of the national economy, the development of human capital through exploring innovative processes and digital technology opportunities, the full digitalization of public services, the formation of digital entrepreneurship, and the development of
e-commerce are crucial for improving the quality of public services and expanding private sector activities. She emphasized that the National Bank, as a regulator, plays a special role in developing digital financial technologies within the country. Therefore, it is necessary to create favorable conditions for expanding access to innovative financial services for both legal entities and individuals.
In turn, Farrukh Sultonov, Head of the IFC Representative Office in the Republic of Tajikistan, expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the National Bank of Tajikistan and stated IFC's readiness to further expand cooperation in promoting innovations within the financial sector and the transition to a cashless economy.
The meeting discussed issues related to expanding cooperation in the banking and insurance sectors, implementing joint projects, including the digitalization section of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy and the project "Support for Digital and Innovative Development of the Financial Sector," improving financial literacy, especially digital financial literacy among young people, as well as the forms and conditions of cooperation in implementing the project's stages.
