On March 19 of this year, the National Bank of Tajikistan hosted a grand cultural event dedicated to the international holiday of Navruz. The event was attended by the bank's management and employees, as well as Doctor of Philology, Professor Ravshan Rahmoni. During the meeting, the management of the National Bank of Tajikistan and participants discussed the history and essence of this glorious holiday. They highlighted the contribution of the Founder of Peace and National Unity—the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honourable Emomali Rahmon—to the revival of national celebrations, including Navruz, and its transformation into a national and international holiday during the years of the republic's independence.
In particular, Firdavs Tolibzoda, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, congratulated the meeting participants. He noted that the customs, rites, and traditions of Navruz are unparalleled in the history of world civilization and represent a spiritual connection between generations of humanity. Therefore, the Leader of the Nation stated in this context that 'Navruz is, first and foremost, a national holiday and an integral part of the life and worldview of our people.'"
Navruz is one of the most important national holidays, with a history stretching back thousands of years. From ancient times to the present day, it has united people through unity and solidarity, construction and prosperity, friendship, and humanism, as well as other high human values. In the cultural history of our people, there is no tradition or custom as precious and valuable as the glorious celebration of Navruz. Navruz is considered a culture, a keeper of identity, a manifestation of national values, ancient customs, and traditions of Tajiks, which have endured through many difficult stages to reach our present day.
It is a matter of pride that our people have preserved sacred national holidays – Navruz, Mehrgan, and Sada – for centuries and continue to honor them to this day. These holidays strengthen values such as peace, reconciliation, and solidarity, and also foster friendship between different peoples and countries.
Navruz boasts rich traditions and customs. Within this framework, the National Bank of Tajikistan regularly provides material and moral support to the State Institution "Specialized Professional Lyceum" of Dushanbe and the State Institution "Boarding House for the Mentally Ill" of Hissor, as well as other needy individuals and low-income families, in order to assist those in need. This support is particularly focused on the eve of Navruz and other official holidays, noted F. Tolibzoda.
Continuing the meeting, Doctor of Philology Professor Ravshan Rahmoni spoke about the history of Navruz's origin and traditions. He stated that the efforts of the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in developing, reviving, strengthening, and presenting Navruz at the international level are unmatched. It was on the initiative of our head of state that UNESCO included this holiday, which connects generations and origins, in the List of World Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2009. Therefore, when celebrating Navruz, we should always strive to focus primarily on its creative, state-forming, unifying, aesthetic, and emotional aspects, demonstrating its national character," said Ravshan Rahmoni.
In the second part of the meeting, representatives from the National Bank of Tajikistan's youth organization and women entertained attendees with poems and songs dedicated to Navruz.
It is worth noting that during the festive event, the winners of the National Bank of Tajikistan's sports competitions held in celebration of the international holiday of Navruz were awarded prizes and commemorative gifts by the bank's management.
In conclusion, the management of the National Bank of Tajikistan congratulated the participants on a bright and prosperous Navruz, urging them to always strive for the prosperity and well-being of their beloved Motherland and to keep every workplace and residence clean and tidy so that Tajikistan becomes a place worthy of celebrating Navruz throughout the year.
