On April 3rd, 2025, the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) leadership met with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to discuss the implementation of the Policy Coordination Instrument (PCI) program and other collaborative efforts.
The Chairman of the NBT briefed the IMF delegation on the current macroeconomic climate and the state of the banking system in Tajikistan. He emphasized that the NBT is committed to fulfilling the PCI program objectives and has made significant progress towards achieving them within the stipulated timeframe.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged perspectives on economic projections, the NBT's strategies for bolstering economic policy, effective management of international resources, and their impact on monetary policy implementation. Topics also included the development of the foreign exchange market, inflation stabilization, financial sector stability, and the integration of IMF recommendations within the PCI framework.
