The Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Firdavs Tolibzoda held a meeting with delegation of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Washington.
During the meeting, the parties expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation and had a fruitful discussion on current issues such as cash services, asset management, the opportunities of opening correspondent accounts for commercial banks, expanding operations through correspondent accounts and strengthening further cooperation.
In the framework of the Spring Meetings, the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan also had a meeting with Ms. Katarzyna Zaidel-Kurowska, Director of the Asset Management, Advisory and Resource Management Department of the World Bank Treasury.
At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the role of central banks in asset management, investing in liquid and high-quality financial instruments, diversifying international reserves as well as improving the skills of staff through participation in seminars, training and internship programs, and technical advisory assistance to enhance the level of staff performance.
