Participation of Sirojiddin Salom in the SCO meeting in Beijing

On June 3, 2025, the Deputy Chairman of National Bank of Tajikistan Ikromi Sirojiddin Salom virtually participated in the meeting of finance ministers and heads of central (national) banks of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, which was held in Beijing under the chairmanship of the Chinese representatives.

At this meeting, the parties have discussed the global political and macroeconomic situation and the promotion of regional cooperation in the field of budget and finance (including the establishment of a financing platform and a network of SCO analytical centers on finance, development of inclusive digital financing, the further expansion of the use of national currencies of the SCO member states in regional trade and investment, and mutual settlements within the organization), measures to address transnational monetary and credit problems, ensuring security, peace and stability in the region, socio-economic development, and the expansion of trade and economic cooperation.

It was noted that the establishment of effective economic cooperation, exchange of experience and regular consultations between member states on the establishment of a financial mechanism can contribute to the sustainable development of countries.

In addition, representatives of the member states approved a relevant decision on the establishment of the SCO Development Bank and expressed their readiness to implement it.

It is worth noting that 10 countries, including China, Russia, Belarus, Iran, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, are members of the SCO, and several other countries are included in it as observers and dialogue partners.
