Meeting with the delegation of the Swiss Cooperation Office in the Republic of Tajikistan

On July 9, 2025, the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Firdavs Tolibzoda, met with the delegation of the Swiss Cooperation Office in the Republic of Tajikistan (SECO) on the occasion of the end of the term of office of the previous director and the appointment of the new director.

Firdavs Tolibzoda has called the meeting symbolic and said: "It is a great honor for us to see off a valuable partner and friend of our country, Ms. Salome Steib, and welcome the new Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in the Republic of Tajikistan, Ms. Denise Lucie." Ms. Salome Steib was thanked for her valuable contribution to the development of cooperation between Tajikistan and the Swiss Confederation, and her efforts in the ensuring sustainable development of the country, effective interaction with the financial sector, in particular with the National Bank of Tajikistan, in strengthening the potential of the banking system, increasing transparency and supporting reforms were especially noted.

Then the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan has congratulated Ms. Denise Lucy on her appointment to this responsible position and expressed confidence that cooperation between the National Bank of Tajikistan and the SECO will continue to develop on the principles of mutual respect, trust and constructive dialogue.

It was noted that the National Bank of Tajikistan is willing for the dialogue with international development partners to implement new initiatives aimed at sustainable economic development of the country, in particular, reforming the banking sector, and in this direction counts on the support of SECO as one of the reputable international financial institutions.

During the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on strengthening mutual cooperation through the effective use of existing potential and various areas of interaction.
