On July 29, 2025, a meeting of the bank's management with the delegation of the international company Visa International Service Association was held at the National Bank of Tajikistan. The Chairman of National Bank of Tajikistan Firdavs Tolibzoda, Vice President and Regional Director of Visa in Central Asia Sanjar Suleymanov as well as the Director for Cooperation with Government Authorities of Central Asia of this company Zhanna Dusenbina have attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the parties have exchanged views on the development of modern digital services, the implementation of innovative technologies and expansion of cashless payments through payment cards of the international Visa system.
During the conversation, it was noted that Visa, in order to ensure broad access to financial services for the population, promote the expansion of cashless payments in the country including the implementation of the Decree of President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated June 22, 2023, No. 586 “On measures to expand cashless payments” in accordance with the Business Plan for the development of the Visa payment system in Tajikistan, envisages the launch and expansion of a number of new payment services and technologies in the country's credit institutions that are participants in this payment system.
It was underlined that new services of the Visa payment system such as money transfers with Visa+ phone numbers, Google Pay and Garmin Pay systems through Android phones and Garmin smartwatches, cashback for payments made through Google Pay with Visa cards and reducing the interchange fee for certain types of government services will benefit users and contribute to increasing the share of cashless payments and popularizing modern payment instruments in the country's monetary circulation.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan welcomed the initiatives of the Visa International Service Association to promote the development and expansion of cashless payments, and expressed his willingness to continue fruitful cooperation in the direction of developing modern financial infrastructure in the country.
