Next financial literacy festival in Isfara city


On August 14 of this year, at the initiative of the National Bank of Tajikistan, jointly with credit financial institutions, insurance organizations and development partners, the next financial literacy festival was held in Isfara. At the opening ceremony of the festival in the Palace of Culture of Isfara, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Daler Murodalizoda and Deputy Chairman of Isfara city Jafar Haidarzoda spoke about the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2022-2026, the importance and necessity of financial literacy of the population and its role in the development of the country's economy.

In particular, it was noted that in order to ensure the implementation of the goals set out in the above mentioned Strategy, the National Bank of Tajikistan, jointly with the relevant ministries and departments, credit financial institutions, insurance organizations and development partners, regularly holds financial literacy festivals in cities and regions of the country to expand the population's access to financial services.

Also, on the recommendation and initiative of the National Bank of Tajikistan, credit financial institutions in cities and regions of the country, especially in remote areas, conduct educational events with target groups of the population, including students of high schools, special vocational and higher educational institutions, employees of state and private enterprises and institutions, women and migrants, the purpose of which is to increase the level of financial literacy of users of financial services. Holding financial literacy festivals is not only an educational event, but also a favorable opportunity to communicate with experts, exchange experiences and get acquainted with new financial instruments.

In the course of the first part of the festival, staff members from the National Bank of Tajikistan, credit financial and insurance institutions addressed the meeting on various topics, including "Advantages of non-cash payments", "Prevention of financial fraud", "Importance of savings", "Role of financial institutions in the improving financial literacy of the population", "Concept and importance of property insurance", and also provided information on advanced and modern practices. During the event, a questions and answers contest was held, and winners were awarded with memorable prizes.

The second part of the event was held on the square near the Palace of Culture of Isfara city, where credit financial and insurance institutions exhibited their financial products for the festival participants.

The third part of the financial literacy festival, namely the entertainment and cultural program with the participation of famous musicians and singers, was held on the central square of Isfara city, and the prize contest for best answers on financial knowledge made the atmosphere of the event even more festive.

In conclusion, it was emphasized that these events will contribute to improving the financial literacy of users of financial services and achieving the goals set out in the National Financial Inclusion Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2022–2026.
