Financial Literacy Festival in Dushanbe


On October 17 of this year, at the initiative of the National Bank of Tajikistan, in collaboration with credit institutions, insurance companies, and development partners, the Financial Literacy Festival was held at the Sadriddin Ayni State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, and Kurushi Kabir Park in Dushanbe.

Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe A.S. Abdurahmonzoda, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan G.N. Naziri, and Director General for Financial Inclusion of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan D.A. Abduganieva have attended the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda has attracted the attention of festival participants to the need for financial knowledge and the importance of financial education in the modern world. It was noted that holding such events creates a favorable basis for exchanging experiences and ideas, learning about new financial products and strengthening financial education.

In turn, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Gulbahor Naziri has noted that the main goal of the festival is to expand public access to financial and insurance services, familiarize the population with the services of credit and insurance organizations, and thereby improve financial literacy. She has underlined that improving financial literacy and protecting the rights of financial consumers play an important role in the development of the banking system.

In this regard, the National Bank of Tajikistan as the financial market regulator, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and in cooperation with relevant ministries and agencies as well as development partners, pays special attention to financial literacy and takes the necessary measures through the development and implementation of state strategies and programs. In particular, it was noted that from 2023 to the present, such festivals have been held in 27 cities and districts of the country reaching more than 65,000 people.

Guest of the Financial Literacy Festival Dilbar Abduganieva, Director General for Financial Inclusion at the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan also emphasized the importance of developing financial literacy and sharing regional experiences in her speech.

Following the conference specialists from the banking, insurance, and commercial sectors delivered presentations on the topics of "Ensuring Security from Financial Fraud," "Proper and Targeted Use of Bank Loans," "The Capabilities of the Andozi Man Mobile App," "Financial Literacy as the Foundation for a Successful Business," "Importance of Savings," and "Concept and Importance of Vehicle Insurance." It should be noted that as part of the event in Kurushi Kabir Park, credit institutions and insurance supervisory authorities have arranged an exhibition of financial and insurance services to residents of the capital.

During the final part of the Financial Literacy Festival, renowned Tajik musicians and singers have delighted participants with an engaging cultural and entertainment program.
