On October 28, 2025, the next meeting of the Permanent Interdepartmental Commission on Anti-money Laundering, Combating Terrorism Financing and the Financing of Mass Destruction Weapons Proliferation (AML/CTF/FMDWP) was held at the National Bank of Tajikistan with the participation of representatives of the Secretariat of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG).
The meeting was opened by the Assistant to President of the Republic of Tajikistan for Legal Affairs, Head of the Commission Z. Alizoda and stressed the importance of the country's preparation for the third round of mutual evaluation of the national system of the (AML/CTF/FMDWP), which is scheduled for 2026 in the framework of the GAO. The Head of the Commission has noted the importance of the new stage in strengthening the stability and transparency of the national system, and expressed gratitude for the continuous support of the GAO Secretariat and the holding of various training events for improving the capacity of the national expert group in the field of AML/CTF/FMDWP.
Then, in his opening remarks, the Deputy Chairman of National Bank of Tajikistan G.N Naziri has welcomed the participants and assessed the meeting as the next important step in the country's preparation for the third round of mutual evaluation of the national system of the AML/CTF/FMDWP.
She also has specifically noted the contribution of the Secretariat and experts from the GAO member states to continuous support in this area, and expressed hope for further cooperation.
The Executive Secretary of the GAO Teterukov S.A. has noted the significant progress of Tajikistan in implementing the international standards of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and expressed the willingness of the GAO Secretariat to continue fruitful cooperation in this field.
It was discussed in the meeting a current situation of the country's national AML/CTF/FMDWP system, the progress of preparation for the third round of mutual evaluation as well as the procedure for its conduct. The Director of Financial Monitoring Department under the National Bank of Tajikistan H.S.Mirzoaliev has reported on the measures taken to strengthen interagency cooperation, involve representatives of relevant ministries and departments in the national expert group and prepare them for the third round of mutual evaluation of the national AML/CTF/FMDWP system.
Finally, the Commission has approved the national expert team for the preparation and conducting the next round of mutual evaluation. Ministries and departments were instructed to ensure the active participation of representatives in the working group and continue fruitful cooperation with the Financial Monitoring Department under the National Bank of Tajikistan.
At the same time, it was stated that, in cooperation with the GAO Secretariat, a number of training seminars for representatives of government authorities and private sector will be held in Dushanbe, the purpose of which is to improve the knowledge of specialists in preparing the country for the next stage of mutual evaluation.
At the end of the meeting, the head of the Commission has expressed gratitude to the representatives of the GAO Secretariat for their continued cooperation and support, emphasizing that comprehensive preparation and close interdepartmental cooperation will be the main factor in the success of the next mutual evaluation.
