On November 12, Daler Murodalizoda, Deputy Chairman of National Bank of Tajikistan, participated in the Regional Forum "Asia Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Monitor 2025," which was held at the initiative of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The issues of small and medium-sized enterprise financing, trade policy, and opportunities for sustainable development of this sector in the region were discussed in the forum.
During the forum, participants have discussed new risks in financial markets amid heightened geopolitical tensions and their impact on small and medium-sized enterprise financing. They also have exchanged views on measures taken by financial regulators to minimize risks and provide alternative financing options for entrepreneurs. The development of international trade, the role of regional cooperation in this area, and improving financial inclusion were also considered in the forum.
It should be noted that during the forum, the Deputy Chairman of National Bank of Tajikistan met with Mr. Shigeo Shimizu, Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank for Japan. During the meeting, the parties have discussed expanding cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank, including financial system development, support for small and medium-sized businesses, and the implementation of joint projects. The discussion also focused on providing technical assistance, involving specialists and consultants, to create a regulatory framework to protect the rights of insurance consumers.
Asian Development Bank representative Mr. Shigeo Shimizu has stated that this proposal is being studied and the feasibility of implementing such a project is being considered.
