Сommemorative banknote 100 somoni has been named the best commemorative banknote of 2025 at the International Competition High Printing Security


The National Bank of Tajikistan's 100-somoni commemorative banknote, issued in honor of the 25th anniversary of the introduction of Tajik somoni - national currency of the Republic of Tajikistan won first place in the "Best Commemorative Banknote of 2025" category at the international competition "High Print Security." The award was handed out to Sirojiddin Ikromi, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, at a ceremony held on December 2, this year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

During the presentation of the commemorative banknote, Sirojiddin Ikromi has delivered a speech on topic "When Traditions Meet Modern and Safe Technologies," highlighting the information about the Republic of Tajikistan, the 25th anniversary of national currency - somoni and features of the commemorative banknote.

The High Security Printing Competition is one of the most prestigious international competitions, held annually at international conferences to recognize the best innovations in the design of banknotes and high-security documents. The competition evaluates banknotes across a range of merits, including artistic design, technological innovation, and symbolism that reflect the cultural and national identity of the issuing country. The High Security Printing Award recognizes the high level of security and innovation employed by the National Bank of Tajikistan in developing its national commemorative currency.

The commemorative 100-somoni banknote was put into circulation on October 30, 2025, and it is the first commemorative paper currency in the history of the independent Republic of Tajikistan, dedicated to this significant date.
