The National Bank of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, held a training on Improving the Capacity Building of Compliance Officers in the International Trade with the involvement of experts from the international company “ARGOS” on January 29-30, 2026.
This event was arranged with the aim of improving the capacity building and professional skills of employees of financial and credit institutions and insurance organizations, especially compliance officers, in the field of compliance with international requirements and risk management in the international trade.
The seminar was opened on January 29, 2026 by Sirojiddin Ikromi, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, and he has emphasized in his speech, that despite the implementation of various reforms in the country's banking system, taking into account the unpredictability of the geopolitical and economic situation in the region and the world, various risks and dangers remain. In such circumstances, strict compliance with international requirements by financial and credit institutions and insurance organizations, and in this context, continuous training of employees, especially compliance officers, who are responsible for compliance with legal regulations, prevention and control of illegal and suspicious transactions, is of great importance.
It was noted that the exchange of experience and information between international experts and representatives of financial and credit institutions, and insurance organizations during the training will contribute to improving the level of knowledge and professional skills of participants.
The Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Office in Tajikistan, Mr. Holger Wifel, who has participated in the opening ceremony, has assessed the cooperation with the National Bank of Tajikistan in recent years as beneficial and expressed his willingness to further strengthen cooperation in the field of developing the human resources of employees of the banking system and insurance organizations, as well as the implementation of initiatives aimed at developing the country's financial system.
As part of the seminar program, on January 29-30, 2026, the experts of the international company "ARGOS" held training for representatives of financial institutions and insurance organizations in person and virtually on topics related to international trade, risk management and compliance with the requirements of international legal regulations.
It is worth noting that these training sessions are used as a platform for exchanging views, and participants will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge, experience and practical skills in the international trade and strengthen their professional skills in this sector.
