On February 13th, 2026 the meeting on review of provisions of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On regulation of celebrations and ceremonies in the Republic of Tajikistan" and the "Concept of state policy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the religion sphere" was held at the National Bank of Tajikistan. Gulbahor Naziri, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Burkhoniddin Abdulazizzoda, a representative of the Religious Affairs and Regulation of Celebrations and Ceremonies Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, staff-members of NBT central office, and members of public commissions from the NBT regional branches in Khujand, Bokhtar, Kulob, Khorog, and Garm, both in person and online have attended the meeting.
In her speech, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Gulbahor Naziri has emphasized that state policy on regulating celebrations, rituals, and fostering an atmosphere of tolerance is a priority for the country's social policy. This is the result of a wise policy, implemented at the initiative and under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, which contributes to improving the socioeconomic situation of the population, protecting national values, and strengthening social unity.
It was noted that the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On regulation of celebrations and ceremonies in the Republic of Tajikistan" laid the foundation for regulating excessive spending by citizens, improving living standards, and strengthening a responsible event culture. It was emphasized that the effective implementation of the provisions of this law is always a priority for the management and staff of the National Bank of Tajikistan.
It was also stressed that the "Concept of state policy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the sphere of religion" is implemented based on secular ideas, freedom of conscience, freedom of religion, pluralism, tolerance, and the equality of all religious believers before the law. The main goal of this concept is to define the long-term prospects for protecting the religious rights and freedoms of individuals and citizens, strengthening the foundations of the secular state, developing a culture of tolerance, and ensuring security and harmony in the country's religious space.
During the meeting, Burkhoniddin Abdulazizzoda, the representative of Religious Affairs and Regulation of Celebrations and Ceremonies Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Maqsud Safarzoda, member of Public Commission of the National Bank of Tajikistan on Regulation of Celebrations and Ceremonies, have explained the main provisions of the above-mentioned documents and provided specific answers for questions of the participants.
In conclusion, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Gulbahor Naziri, has stated that under the leadership and constructive initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, compliance with national legislation and implementation of state policy in the sphere of religion in all government authorities including the National Bank of Tajikistan, will make a contribution to the sustainable development of society and strengthening of national unity.
