Group, the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan led by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kholiqzoda Hokim Hikmatullo met with the Vice President, Corporate Secretary of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Mr. Sherard Cowper-Coles.
During the meeting, the parties have discussed an implementation of joint projects in the fields of energy, transport and social infrastructure and assessed the contribution of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in financing strategic projects of the Republic of Tajikistan such as the Roghun HPP, reconstruction of the Norak HPP an construction of roads and bridges as important.
It was stressed that expanding cooperation in the areas of "green" energy, development of transport infrastructure, sustainable use of water resources and attracting long-term investments are of key importance for ensuring sustainable economic development and strengthening regional integration of Tajikistan. It was noted in the meeting that the Republic of Tajikistan, in the context of a changing global economic environment, maintains stable macroeconomic growth, continues to implement structural reforms and attract foreign investment. It was underlined that continued mutually beneficial cooperation with international development partners will contribute to the implementation of priority projects, strengthening economic stability and improving the well-being of the population. At the end of the meeting, interest was expressed in expanding mutual cooperation.
It is worth noting that the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Qakhorzoda Fayziddin, the Chairman of National Bank of Tajikistan Tolibzoda Firdavs, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United States of America Zavqizoda Zavqi, and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the IMF and the World Bank Amirzoda Payrav also have participated in this meeting.
