Meeting with representatives of J.P. Morgan and international investors


On May 22, 2026, Firdavs Tolibzoda, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, held a meeting with representatives of the international financial companies J.P. Morgan, Loomis Sayles & Company, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, and Global Evolution.

The meeting covered the global and regional economic situation, prospects for the economic development of the Republic of Tajikistan, reforms in the financial and banking sectors, and capital-raising opportunities.

The parties also focused on the implementation of international standards in the banking sector and the development of digital financial services.

It was noted that in recent years, the number of payment cards and e-wallets, as well as the volume of non-cash transactions in the country, have significantly increased, alongside an accelerated digitalization of the economy.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan emphasized that favorable conditions had been created for foreign investors in the country's financial and banking sectors, and in this context, priority areas included developing financing for the green economy, strengthening digital infrastructure, and supporting small and medium-sized businesses.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed interest in continuing constructive dialogue and exploring areas of cooperation in the financial, investment, and banking sectors.

It should be noted that this meeting was held in fulfillment of the instructions and directives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon. It also aimed to support the National Bank of Tajikistan's cooperation with international financial institutions, including J.P. Morgan, to attract investment into the country's economy.
