The meeting of First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Hokim Kholiqzoda, leadership of the National Bank of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Finance with the Regional Attaché of the United Kingdom for Sanctions Douglas Clark was held on June 9, 2026 at the National Bank of Tajikistan.
At the beginning of the meeting the parties have exchanged views on current situation of cooperation and strengthening coordination in the financial sector, and discussed in detail issues related to the direction of the banking system of the Republic of Tajikistan, effective implementation of international requirements and standards, as well as the strengthening of supervisory mechanisms and risk management.
In his speech, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Hokim Kholiqzoda has emphasized that the Republic of Tajikistan pays special attention to the expansion of beneficial cooperation with international partners and takes the necessary measures to ensure transparency, stability of the financial system and bring the activities of the financial sector into line with international standards.
The UK Regional Attaché for Sanctions Douglas Clarke has assessed the cooperation of the Tajik delegation with international partners as beneficial in strengthening coordination mechanisms and developing further relations.
The Chairman of National Bank of Tajikistan has expressed his opinion on the measures taken by the National Bank of Tajikistan to ensure the stability of the banking system, compliance with international requirements for supervision and risk management, and strengthening compliance in financial institutions.
At the end of the meeting, the parties have expressed their willingness to continue fruitful cooperation and expand mutual beneficial relationships.
