Participation in the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Constituency Meeting


From June 29 to 30, 2026, Firdavs Tolibzoda, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, visited Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to participate in high-level meetings as part of the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan. These events took place during the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Constituency Meeting.

In particular, on June 30, 2026 the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan presented positive indicators of the country's economic development at the meeting of member states, providing information on the sustainable growth of Gross Domestic Product, macroeconomic stability, results of monetary policy, and development of the financial system. During the discussions, attention was paid to further strengthening cooperation with constituency countries in the areas of digital economy, green economy development, improving the investment climate, expanding the use of sustainable financial instruments, and continuing banking sector reforms. It was also underlined that expanding cooperation with international financial institutions is essential for strengthening macroeconomic stability and developing the country's financial system.

On the same day, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan met with Martin Schlegel, Governor of the Swiss National Bank. The parties discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, including in the areas of monetary policy, international resource management, risk management, financial stability, digital financial technologies, cybersecurity, and professional development. The discussions also focused on deepening cooperation between Tajik and Swiss financial institutions and attracting Swiss investment to Tajikistan's financial market.

Later that day, as part of the Constituency meeting, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan also met with Ms.Antonella Bassani, World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia.

At the meeting, the parties discussed strengthening cooperation in financial sector development, digitalization of financial services, increasing financial inclusion, developing green finance, implementing energy projects, and enhancing institutional capacity. In this context, the parties emphasized the importance of the World Bank's continued support for structural reforms and sustainable economic development was emphasized.
