On September 2, 2026, the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Firdavs Tolibzoda, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Tajikistan, Muhammad Rashid Al-Amiri. The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. During the talks, the parties discussed issues related to expanding bilateral cooperation and strengthening ties between the banking and financial systems of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Kuwait.
At the meeting, the parties expressed interest in establishing and expanding direct cooperation between the banking systems of the two countries, as well as in developing correspondent banking relationships. They emphasized the importance of exchanging experience and knowledge in modern areas of the financial sector, including digitalization, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and the application of artificial intelligence in banking.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan expressed Tajikistan's interest in further developing the insurance sector and studying the experience of the State of Kuwait in this area. Also, taking into account Kuwait's expertise in Islamic finance, the head of the National Bank expressed a desire to expand cooperation, exchange experience, and study best practices in Islamic banking.
At the end of the meeting, the parties emphasized their willingness to continue the constructive dialogue and take practical measures to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between the financial and banking sectors of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Kuwait.
