According to recent data the amount of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for January – April of current year made 4 426,5 million Somoni and its real growth in comparative prices against the similar period of previous year made 2,9%.</p>
On May 5 of current year the average exchange rate of purchase and sale of US dollar in the exchange offices of Dushanbe was unchanged and made 4,15 Somoni. The currency market state testifies to satisfaction of demand for foreign currency, and in some cases a certain demand for Somoni increases.
On May 4 of current year by increasing money supply in the market, the average exchange rate of purchase and sale of cash US dollar has been decreased as against the working days of last week and at the average made 4.15 Somoni in Dushanbe.
On April 29 the commercial banks, credit organizations and the National Bank of Tajikistan have begun to implement operations on sale of foreign currency. The started sale has decreased a demand for foreign currency and promoted to decrease the average rate of purchase and sale of US dollar to 4, 15 somoni in the cash market.
On April 30 of current year as a result of realizing sale of foreign currency by banks, credit organizations and the National Bank of Tajikistan in the national currency market the average rate of purchase and sale of US dollar in the cash market has decreased from 4,15 to 4,12 somoni. At the same time, there is also an increasing demand for somoni for realizing current payments.
Since April 15 of this year there was begun the Internet - voting on competition «Monetary constellation - 2009», organised by publishing company "Uoter Mark", issuing a magazine on commemorative coin market «Gold tchervonets» and a magazine on protected production "Watermark". The coins of the Central Banks and Mints 21 countries of the world have been presented in this competition. It will last till May 31, 2009.
Over the last days the average rate of purchase and sale of US dollar has a tendency to increase and made at the average 4, 0850 - 4, 1050 somoni. The average rates are also changed on operations with Russian rouble and Euro, which made 0, 1179-0, 1203 and 5, 1985-5, 2019 somoni.
The special audit is made by the international audit company Ernst & Young according to the financial program of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. This audit company was selected by the National Bank of Tajikistan on the base of competitive bidding from international audit companies of high reputation.
