Presentation of clearing settlements with use of banking payment cards has taken place in the NBT

For the purpose of execution of corresponding points of the Governmental order of the Republic of Tajikistan from December 31, 2015 “On measures of expansion of clearing settlements with use of banking payment cards”, in the National Bank of Tajikistan was held round table on a theme: “Development of clearing settlements with use of modern payment technologies” during which representatives of the credit institutions and companies of suppliers of terminal equipment have participated.

In the course of round table suppliers of the terminal equipment have held presentations of electronic terminals of companies PAX Technology LTD, Verifone and Ingenico. Representatives of these companies have shared experience of introduction and application of modern payment technologies with participants of a round table.

Within the limits of this event it was held participants polling and discussed issues, reasons and problems which arise during realization of abovementioned Order.

In particular, participants of round table noticed that for the further development of non-cash payments in the Republic of Tajikistan it is necessary:

- expansion of terminal network on all territory of the republic and provide availability to population; - decrease in customs duties on imported terminal equipments;

- tax privileges for trading-service enterprises which accept payment for the goods and services through payment terminals by payment cards;

- increase of financial literacy among population, etc.

Also, participants mentioned that for execution of this Government order, it is necessary to active participation of all interested parties, such as Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan, National Bank of Tajikistan and Tax Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. Therefore, it was expressed opinion that Committee on Television and Radio under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Association of Banks of Tajikistan, Association of the Microfinancial Institutions of Tajikistan and credit institutions, should held constantly explanatory works and organize publicity event on use of modern payment technologies by means of mass media.
