NBT: enforcement actions will be applied further

The National Bank of Tajikistan has applied corrective and enforcement actions in relation to 21 employees of exchange bureaus of credit institutions today, on December 1, 2015 for the speculative actions and rough infringement of the NBT statutory acts requirements, which actions became the reason of destabilization of internal exchange market situation.

During the inspections held by joint operative team of the NBT and Agency on State Financial Control and Fight against Corruption in the exchange bureaus of the OJSC "Tojiksodirotbank", CJSC “Tojprombonk”, OJSC “Sohibkorbank” and MDO “Vaslat” it was revealed cases of infringement of the legislation on foreign exchange, in particular shortage and surplus of money resources, absence of registration journal of currency purchase and sale, self-willed establishment of exchange rate, absence of registration books of bank’s head office inspections, discrepancy of currencies’ purchase and sale indicator board and instructions of bank’s head office.

On this basis, the National Bank of Tajikistan has recommended to credit institutions do not employ the staffs of exchange bureaus, which have broken legislation requirements until receipt of additional instructions.

In connection with revealed cases in the exchange bureaus of credit institutions, the National Bank of Tajikistan will take enforcement actions in form of large penalties charged from the OJSC "Tojiksodirotbonk", CJSC "Tojprombonk", OJSC "Sohibkorbonk" and MDO «Vaslat».
