Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda has met Mr. Norbert Mumba, AFI’s Deputy Executive Director today, on April 25, 2017, who arrived with official visit to Dushanbe.
Mr. Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda welcomed the visit of Mr. Norbert Mumba to Dushanbe city and expressed the hope that the results of the 15th Financial Inclusion Data (FID) Working Group and 10th Financial Inclusion Strategy (FIS) Peer Learning Group Meetings will promote an extension and further strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation in the framework of this institution, providing foundation for further cooperation.
Mr. Norbert Mumba in turn has expressed gratitude to Mr. Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda for excellent organization of 15th Financial Inclusion Data (FID) Working Group and 10th Financial Inclusion Strategy (FIS) Peer Learning Group Meetings, which were held on April 24-28, 2017 in the Training Center of the National Bank of Tajikistan.
He has noted financial inclusion in Central Asia, including Tajikistan, mobilization of donor activities in direction of development of Strategy of financial inclusion to population for 2017-2030, giving priority to women entrepreneurs, support for small and medium business, which has a vital role for development of the country, underlining a willingness of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) in financial system by using available opportunities on addressing issues related to financial and banking system, implementation of joint programs and development of the economy of Tajikistan.
During the meeting the parties have discussed several issues, including current situation of banking system, importance of financial support to population, reduction of poverty, technical support, personnel training in foreign countries, exchange of experience, cooperation on financial system, use of existing opportunities on settlement of issues related to financial and banking system, Strategy of financial services consumers rights protection for 2017-2019.
