Meeting of Mr. Jamoliddin Nuraliev with EBRD Delegation

On July 12, 2017 Mr. Jamoliddin Nuraliev, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan has received the Delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) under the leadership of Mr. Kamen Zakhariev, Director Corporate Recovery, EBRD.

In the beginning of the meeting Mr. Jamoliddin Nuraliev, First Deputy Chairman has acquainted the EBRD Delegation with macroeconomic indicators and obtained results in sphere of preparation of legislative and regulatory acts and modification of banking system legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan in the frame of realisation of some bank reforms.

In particular, Mr. Jamoliddin Nuraliev has highly appreciated the executed works connected with preparation and adoption of some new laws in the payment system sphere, AML/CFT, Islamic banking and protection of consumers of banking system of the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the meeting, dealing legislation of banking system, parties have discussed issues on necessity of introduction of amendments and additions in some laws of banking system of the republic of Tajikistan, including in the sphere of monetary policy, deposits, mortgage security of movable and real property in the credit institutions in the process of recovery of debts.

During the meeting Mr. Kamen Zakhariev, Director Corporate Recovery, EBRD has noted that such disputable points also arise in the international banks practice, and for elimination of similar disputes it is necessary to improve legal framework.

At end of the meeting which passed in atmosphere of mutual understanding, parties have expressed willingness to extend cooperation on the aforementioned questions, including for strengthening of statutory standards and legislation of banking system.

It is necessary to note that Mr. Kamen Zakhariev, Director Corporate Recovery, EBRD was accompanied by Ms. Marina Kerdemelidi - Senior Banker of Corporate Recovery Department, EBRD, Ms. Ayten Rustamova, Head of EBRD Office in the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Shavkat Ahmedov, EBRD Legal Adviser, Mr. Muhammad Dadabaev, Expert of EBRD Office in the Republic of Tajikistan during the meeting.
