Strengthening co-operation between NBT and EBRD

The working meeting of Mr. Jamoliddin Nuraliev, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan and Mr. Sergey Verkashansky, Executive Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Russian Federation, Byelorussia and Tajikistan took place on October 8, 2018 in the National Bank of Tajikistan.

During the meeting which was held in the atmosphere of mutual understanding, the parties exchanged views on bilateral cooperation of EBRD with the Republic of Tajikistan, including the issues of distribution of EBRD projects according to regions and sectors in the Republic of Tajikistan, consideration of operating projects and analysis of their perspectives, state of macroeconomic indicators and banking system.

Mr. Jamoliddin Nuraliev, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan has expressed satisfaction on effective mutual cooperation between EBRD and the Republic of Tajikistan, and expressed interest on development of future relations in the sphere of support of private sector, including banking system.

In turn, Mr. Sergey Verkashansky, Executive Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Russian Federation, Byelorussia and Tajikistan expressed willingness for the development of cooperation on various directions of economy, especially, large infrastructure projects, including construction of important strategic roads, transmission facilities, and also development of bank transfer relations of domestic banks with foreign banks, and stated that he will support for the extension of fruitful cooperation of EBRD and NBT in this direction.

It is worth to note that the heads of NBT structural subdivisions also have attended the meeting.
