On November 28, 2019, the Conference on Key trends of information security in the digital transformation era was held in Dushanbe by the initiative of the NBT, in cooperation with Softline company. The management of the NBT, leadership of Softline company, representative of the General Directorate on Protection of State Secrets under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and representatives of government authorities, private domestic and foreign companies have participated in the event.
The purpose of the conference, according to those responsible, is to increase the potential of information protection against cyber attacks. During his speech, the NBT Deputy Chairman Hamidullo Mashrabzoda touched upon issues of innovations in the field of information technologies as well as methods on ensuring information security, their relevance, in particular, noted: “In order to implement the decisions of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the number of cashless payments and banking services is increasing every day with use of electronic funds, bank cards and other technological means of electronic payments. Today in the era of digital transformation, credit institutions switch from traditional banking services to remote and intelligent banking services. Digital transformation allows for improving the quality of cooperation with customers and accelerating the pace of work of credit institutions, however, along with this, it causes additional risks. Therefore, ensuring information security is always considered a mandatory requirement for credit institutions. It has its own characteristics for each institution and in this regard the provision of a package of protective measures is also a prerequisite for the entire banking system.
In this context, it is necessary to take appropriate measures of information security and maintaining the confidentiality of customer data. It should be noted that the banking system, taking into account the specifics of the stored data, is at great risk. This suggests that credit institutions should pay special attention to the development of their infrastructure in order to increase the level of information security and take measures necessary to protect the database” noted H. Mashrabzoda.
Then, regarding the existing opportunities and ensuring information security of the banking system of the country, the NBT experts have addressed the meeting. They assured that they will take all measures to ensure information security and gain customer confidence.
The Softline representatives have noted that their company is represented in 95 cities of 50 countries and has been working closely in the IT services market for more than 20 years to ensure information security, technical support, training industry specialists, development of concepts etc.
