Cooperation Agreement between the National Bank of Tajikistan and Central Bank of the Russian Federation

On September 14, 2021, Chairman of National Bank of Tajikistan Hokim Kholiqzoda and Deputy Chairman of Central Bank of the Russian Federation Ruslan Vesterovsky have signed a Cooperation Agreement between the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and National Bank of Tajikistan on countering computer attacks.

At the beginning of signing ceremony, the Chairman of National Bank of Tajikistan Hokim Kholiqzoda has spoken about the fruitful cooperation between the National Bank of Tajikistan and Central Bank of the Russian Federation, stressing that the Russian Federation is one of the main partners of Tajikistan in field of trade and commerce, banking and investments.

“The signing of Cooperation Agreement between the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and National Bank of Tajikistan in field of countering computer attacks is a timely and necessary measure to protect the banking systems of both countries from information threats, and ensures a favorable basis for fruitful cooperation, " has noted the Chairman of National Bank of Tajikistan Hokim Kholiqzoda.

Ruslan Vesterovsky, Deputy Chairman of Central Bank of the Russian Federation, in his speech has expressed satisfaction with close and mutually beneficial relationship between the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and National Bank of Tajikistan, noting that today these two banks are fruitfully cooperating in many areas and the integration of Payment System "Korti Milli" and NSPC "Mir" is a vivid example of such cooperation.

"The development and signing of Cooperation Agreement between the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and National Bank of Tajikistan in countering cyber attacks is in the interests of banking systems of both countries and it is a timely step," has said Ruslan Vesterovsky, Deputy Chairman of Central Bank of Russia.

The strengthening information security, developing a strategy for identifying factors of computer attacks, countering computer attacks and mitigating their impact on banking system is one of the most important tasks of modern central banks, which is covered in the Cooperation Agreement between the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and National Bank of Tajikistan in sphere of countering computer attacks.

The parties have expressed a confidence that the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the Central Bank of Russian Federation and National Bank of Tajikistan in sphere of countering computer attacks will ensure favorable conditions for the exchange of information and exchange of experience in the future in field of preventing and countering computer attacks.
