Approval of Strategy for further development of Interbank Association of Shanghai Cooperation Organization at the meeting of the IBA SCO
The meeting of the Interbank Association Board of Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held on September 16, 2021 in Dushanbe in the framework of the 20th anniversary summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) chaired by SSB of the Republic of Tajikistan "Amonatbank".
The SCO Secretary General Norov Vladimir Imamovich, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Davlatali Said, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Kholiqzoda Hokim Hikmatullo, Chairman of SSB of the Republic of Tajikistan "Amonatbank" Ikromi Sirojiddin Salom and heads of banks-members of the IBA, in particular, heads of financial and infrastructure company of the Republic of India, State Development Bank of China, Habib Bank Limited of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, State Development Corporation VEB of the Russian Federation, Development Bank of Kazakhstan, OJSC RSK Bank of Kyrgyz Republic and JSC National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan have participated in person and virtual format in the meeting.
As part of the meeting agenda with the aim of developing bilateral and multilateral cooperation, representatives of banks-members of the Interbank Association of Shanghai Cooperation Organization have discussed 6 important issues, in particular: expanding cooperation with financial institutions of observer states and SCO dialogue partners, strengthening interaction with financial institutions carrying out activities in the SCO states-members and Asia, consideration of approval of strategy for further development of the Interbank Consortium of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (ICO SCO) for the medium term (2022-2026), cooperation in field of investment activities of banks-members of the ICO SCO, cooperation on exchange of experience and personnel training, consideration and election by voting of presiding bank in the SCO Interbank Association for 2021-2022.
It should be noted that during the meeting, heads of banks-members of the SCO Interbank Association while leadership of the SSB of the Republic of Tajikistan “Amonatbank” have signed the Strategy for further development of the Interbank Association of Shanghai Cooperation Organization for medium term of 2022-2026.
It should be recalled that at the 16th meeting of the Interbank Association of Shanghai Cooperation Organization held on November 3, 2020 at the initiative of the State Development Corporation "VEB" of the Russian Federation in virtual format, the Republic of Tajikistan was represented by official delegation of SSB of the Republic of Tajikistan "Amonatbank" under the leadership of Chairman of the Board Sirojiddin Ikromi.
After the signing acts of cooperation in a solemn atmosphere, the chairmanship of the Interbank Association of Shanghai Cooperation Organization for 2020-2021 by Igor Shuvalov, Chairman of State Development Corporation "VEB" of the Russian Federation was transferred to Chairman of Board of SSB of the Republic of Tajikistan "Amonatbank" Sirojiddin Ikromi.
For reference: The Interbank Association (IBA) was established in 2005 as an instrument of assistance in the implementation of economic cooperation projects approved by the SCO member states. The IBA includes Development Bank of Kazakhstan, State Development Bank of China, Vnesheconombank of Russia, National Bank of Tajikistan and National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.Since 2020, Vnesheconombank of Russia has been the chairman of the IBA SCO.
