Retraining seminar will lay a sustainable foundation in strengthening cooperation of Eurasian countries in the banking system

The National Bank of Tajikistan for the purpose of implementation of the training program on retraining of employees of central (national) banks - members of the Eurasian Council of Central (National) Banks for 2023 organized a seminar (round table) on "Partnership financing (Islamic banking), licensing and supervision of Islamic credit organizations, corporate governance, licensing and reorganization of credit institutions" from August 7-11, 2023 at the Training Center of the National Bank of Tajikistan in Guliston.

Representatives of the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Belarus, as well as specialists of regional branches of the National Bank of Tajikistan attended the seminar.

It should be noted that more than 200 representatives of the central banks of the mentioned countries also remotely joined and actively participated in the work of this seminar.

According to the approved program, presentations were made on the following topics: Islamic finance, regulatory legal framework for the regulation and supervision of Islamic credit institutions, history of Islamic banking in the Republic of Tajikistan, the procedure for regulation and supervision of Islamic credit institutions, the procedure for regulation and supervision of Islamic credit institutions, standards of the Islamic Advisory Council (IFSB), requirements of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) standards for obtaining a license, peculiarities of licensing of Islamic credit institutions and credit organizations, the procedure for transformation of conventional credit institutions into Islamic credit institutions, corporate governance in credit financial institutions, peculiarities of corporate governance in Islamic credit institutions, and corporate governance in Islamic financial institutions.

The participants of the seminar highly appreciated the level and quality of the seminar organization and noted that such educational events will contribute to strengthening further cooperation of regulatory authorities and banking supervision of the countries.

In the course of the seminar (round table), the responsible persons of the event gave specific answers to the questions and held interesting discussions on the topics under consideration.

In the final part of the event, all participants were awarded with certificates.

In general, the seminar was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, which in turn will serve as a strong basis for further cooperation in the banking system of Eurasian countries.
