Hokim Kholiqzoda: “We should sacredly honor the State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan and consider it a symbol of our statehood”

On November 23, 2023, on the eve of the national holiday, Day of the State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan, a solemn meeting chaired by the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Kholiqzoda Hokim Hikmatullo was held in the National Bank of Tajikistan. In addition, First Deputy Chairman Firdavs Tolibzoda, Deputy Chairmen Firuz Sharifzoda, Alijon Salimzoda and employees of the Bank participated as well.

In addition, the chairman of the Center for Literature Propaganda of the Writers Union of Tajikistan Abdullohi Rahnamo took part in the solemn meeting.

The solemn event began with the National Anthem and bringing the National Flag into the hall.

At the beginning, the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Mr. Hokim Kholiqzoda congratulated all present and in their person all employees of the National Bank of Tajikistan on the Day of the State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan, which has been celebrated for 14 years. He also added that a number of holidays of fateful significance for our people are celebrated in November such as the Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Day of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the 31st anniversary of the 16th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan.

It was noted that on November 24, 1992 at the historic sixteenth session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan the State Flag of our sovereign state was adopted by the people's deputies. In addition, on the direct initiative of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Holidays" was amended in 2009, according to which November 24 was proclaimed the Day of the State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan.

During his speech, Hokim Kholiqzoda noted that the Flag, Coat of Arms and National Anthem are the main symbols of each state and the embodiment of the autonomy and independence of the state and the nation, are important in state activities, and they represent the state and the nation in official and unofficial, state, cultural, sports, as well as international events and in everyday public life. Therefore, we should piously honor the State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan and consider it a symbol of our statehood.

That is to say, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon said: "The National Flag is one of the symbols of state sovereignty and our modern statehood, a reflection of the historical foundations and symbol of the state of Tajiks since ancient times, as well as the embodiment of the goals and aspirations, desires of all the people of Tajikistan".

On the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the State Sovereignty of Tajikistan, a 165 meter flagpole of Tajikistan’s state flag was installed in Dushanbe on August 30, 2011, which was then considered the highest flagpole in the world, listed in the Guinness Book of Records. The flagpole symbolizes a sense of pride in the motherland, in the capital of Tajikistan.

"It should be noted that the three pillars of our nationhood, i.e. strengthening the foundations of sovereignty, the adoption of the State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan and the appointment of the distinguished Emomali Rahmon to the leadership position occurred at the same time, at the historic sixteenth session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan. In other words, the state activity of the Leader of the Nation started with the the oath under this flag, as well as the establishment of stability and peace, further achievements, including the construction of tunnels and roads, railroads, construction and commissioning of small and large hydropower plants, in particular the first and second units of the Rogun hydropower plant, development of four strategic goals. All the above mentioned were carried out under the State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan". - said H. Kholiqzoda.

Later, the floor was given to the famous poet and researcher, Chairman of the Center for Literature Propaganda of the Union of Writers of Tajikistan Abdulloh Rahnamo, who expressed his views on the celebration of the Day of the State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan, the history of origin, the difficult and thorny path of building the state by the Tajik people and other national symbols - the National Emblem and the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan.

After that, the Head of the Translation Division of the Chaiman Office of the National Bank of Tajikistan Hasan Sulton, representatives of the Youth Organization and the Women's Council of the National Bank of Tajikistan spoke about the historical aspects of the Day of the State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as recited poems from the works of great poets - classics.

In the final part of the solemn meeting, the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Hokim Kholiqzoda once again congratulated the employees of the National Bank of Tajikistan on the Day of the State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan.
